Abstraction was created to provide an experience that engages the senses. With the right flavors and blending, a wine can induce sensations that can match the emotional response we experience when viewing abstract art. Each experience is unique and special to the consumer. With that in mind, the packaging doesn’t try to tell the viewer what to think, but instead encourages them to bring their personal experiences and emotions into the experience. Custom artwork was used in the development of the labels.
Special Blu-ray Packaging
Special five disc movie collection for Pirates of the Caribbean. To make this collection feel special, a story and shipwreck theme were added to the packaging. Captain Jack Sparrow has gone missing and all that is left are his special belongings that have washed ashore on a secluded island. His belongings can be found in a wooden crate with fun “easter eggs” from Jack’s adventures being added for fans to find. In addition, fans will have a chance to own his famous compass, periscope, and a book that provides interesting facts about the ride. The five discs will be housed within a pirate map.
Special Blu-ray Packaging
The Bates Motel special blu-ray packaging gives fans the opportunity to own the gripping final season all themed within the famous shower scene. In addition to the final season, fans will have the opportunity to own an exclusive Bates Motel hand towel and their very own Norman Bates figurine!
Uncharted is an action adventure game that follows the protagonist and her partner as they explore India in search of an ancient artifact. The PS4 and the packaging are covered in artwork from the game and the title was designed to look like an artifact.
Ketchikan is a craft beer brand that pulls its inspiration from Ketchikan, Alaska. Native totem poles played a guiding force in the logo development and color choices. The packaging includes multiple products such as a coaster, bottle opener, and a sample beer.
With Comic-con and the cosplay culture growing in popularity it’s time for products to start targeting this segment and become more relevant. There is currently a lack of supply for this consumer with the closest fragrances just offering a standard bottle with a logo slapped onto it. To correct this problem, I’ve created a cologne that goes beyond typical packaging by instilling a story that the consumer can become invested in. The packaging is designed to look like an old book that contains a hidden relic and inside consumers will find a look book that will tell the story of Monster Blood.
Méchant is a brand of hot sauce that takes its inspiration from the Voodoo culture found in Louisiana. The packaging is made to look like a potion that is cooked up in the bayou with twine, skulls, and gargoyles being used to create a sense of its mystic origins. To pay tribute to France’s influence on the territory the name of the brand is taken from the French word Méchant, which means wicked.
Advertising and Packaging
LimitlessGO is an extreme camera brand with the packaging targeted towards adrenaline junkies who push the limits. Bright colors and exotic patterns are applied to the packaging to help it stand out and give it a sense of action. Three different advertisements were designed to promote the product.
The Dark Tower focuses on the last gunslinger as he battles evil on its pursuit to topple the dark tower, the key that holds the universe together. The tower is used as the main focal point of the DVD cover and because the protagonist is a gunslinger the disc is designed to look like the cylinder found in a revolver.
The movie is a high-adrenaline car chase and as such it was my goal to keep the overall concept of the posters simple and focused on the chase. I used grimy textures and warm colors to create a post apocalyptic feel and I put cars on the horizon to let the viewer know that danger is on its way. This concept is reinforced by showing a skull in the teaser poster as well as showing the villain in the key art.
SPLIT is a film that tells the story of three girls who are kidnapped and terrorized by a man that is diagnosed with having twenty-three different personalities. To depict these distinct personalities, the poster is broken up into twenty-three different pieces with a shadow being cast to represent the three main personalities. An eery looking silhouette along with a grungy texture is applied to create an atmosphere of suspense.
The poster design aims to capture the obsession that the Phantom has for Christine who acts as the muse that inspires the Phantom’s music. Both Christine and the Phantom combine to make a whole, she’s the voice and he’s the music. The tragedy is when his obsession and rage consumes him and he stops seeing her as a human being and more as a music box that is only there to perform for him.
One of the central themes of Thor is his loss of power. Specifically, the loss of his hammer from which he pulls his strength. For the teaser poster, it was important to highlight this loss and make the hammer the main focus.
Shipwrecked is a fun and colorful surface design collection that takes its influence from the tiki craze. Using icons created from India ink and water color paper, this collection seeks to bring a new twist on the tiki statues that have made the craze so popular.
EXTINT is an entertainment magazine geared towards a market that takes a strong interest in the inner workings of Hollywood. Topics range from top box office records, DVD reviews, and analysis for Hollywood’s most iconic films.
